Introduction to Ba Vi Milk-cow

Being a base of milk-cow farm in Viet Nam, formed since 1940s at the dairy farm and Boren mineral water area by the French at Ba Vi. Ba Vi milk-cow is cross-bred between the local brown cow variety and Europe ’s well milking cow variety.

The yield is not very high but the quality is rather good, both the smell and taste because the Ba Vi grassland is located in a special eco-area with the soil, water source, various and rich vegetational cover and microorganism. Ba Vi cow-milk has been evaluated as the most/second delicious kind of cow-milk in the world based on the data of three main components of milk namely the lipid, protein and raw substance higher than of United States’ and New Zealand’s cow-milk (according to the data of International Milk Company and Center of Ba Vi Cow and Grassland Research). Nowadays, the Ba Vi milk-cow and grassland is still seen as a National Center of Original Breeding  (Center of Ba Vi Cow and Grassland Research established from the base of Ba Vi Milk-cow Farm) because still remaining the stableness and high quality of the locally original milk-cow herd after 50 years of the development.The trade name of Ba Vi Milk-cow has been recognized thank to the rearing area available with supplying the milk made products, mainly the fresh cow-milk, yoghurt entered the market via hundred of milk shops along the routes of 21A, 21B..  The existing issue, however, is that the milk yield is still small and low, the product quality still has not the original certificate and regular inspection by the related authorities yet, having not a dairy for processing and supplying milk following the industrial process yet..The development potential among the farming households is still very large but not yet having organization and arrangement appropriately so that to meet the increasing demand of market, especially the market of Ha Noi inner city’s citizens. The demand of fresh, straight and safe milk at the kindergartens, children garden, schools, hospitals and for the old people in Ha Noi is very large, which is opposite with the current situation of using the original state reverted milk kinds (milk powder imported from the overseas, separated the grease, protein and minerals, with more and more increasing price and containing the uncontrolled toxicants) If there is available of management model suitably from the stage of production, quality control, processing, and distribution to the end user so that ensure the Ba Vi milk being not mixed with the other area's one, both the objects, the end user and manufacturer, get the truly benefit.
