Mazoon Dairy Awards Three New Contracts
Times of Oman reports that the contracts have been awarded to ARTAT, Al Adrak Trading and Contracting and Tetra Pak to commence the development of its technologically advanced central dairy processing plant in Welayat Al Sunainah, Al Buraimi Governorate.
The companies will be closely involved in design development, procurement, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance and delivery of the central processing plant building.
Dr Rashid Al-Masroori, chairman of Mazoon Dairy Company was present at the signing along with Dr Thomas Alexander CEO Al Adrak Trading and Construction, Riyadh Al Omair, ARTAT and Mats W Andersson, project sales director, Tetra Pak.
Meanwhile, Al Adrak Trading will construct the central processing plant covering an area of 50,000 square metres. The facility will use the most advanced technology to meet its production capacity of up to 1,000,000 litres per day.
The contract with Al Adrak, valued at OMR14.40 million, also includes developing a state of the art dairy processing plant, milk reception centres, administrative offices, a control office, storage for raw materials and a facility to manufacture plastic containers.
ARTAT has been awared contract worth OMR261,000 to provide livestock feed mixing equipment, which will ensure high-quality feed that improves and increases the performance of livestock and production efficiency.
Tetra Pak, the foremost food processing and packaging solutions company, has been awarded contract worth OMR10.50 million to ensure the supply and installation of all dairy processing equipment, including milk reception and storages, tanks, homogenisation and pasteurisation machines, as well as all refrigeration’s and other utility requirements.
The rapid pace of development of the project is helping to reinforce the company’s vision to support the Sultanate’s drive towards self-sufficiency in food production and create opportunities for Omani youth in the workforce.
“The collective expertise and cutting-edge technology of these three leading companies in the food manufacturing business will ensure that we are on track to delivering a fully-integrated dairy farm and plant facility that is ready to meet the nutritional demands of the Sultanate,” Dr Arjun Subramanian, general manager projects at Mazoon Dairy Company, said.
“This signing event is another vital milestone progressing towards the construction of our state of the art dairy farm production facility. On the same note, we wish to extend our thanks to implementation follow & support unit (ISFU Oman) in also facilitating the progress so far,” he added.

Backed by the Oman Food Investment Company alongside civil service pension fund, Royal office pension fund, Al-Hosn Investment Company, Oman dairy products and derivatives and Oman Investment fund. Mazoon Dairy Company, will provide quality home produced dairy and juice products, including milk, yoghurt, laban, cheese, ice cream and juices. The company intends to launch soon with a full product range — a unique achievement for a large-scale project of this kind in the Gulf region.
