Ministry to Oversee Vaccine Development

(Dairy Vietnam) BRAZIL – ARGENTINA - As part of the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) action programme of the Mercosur group the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply will undertake an audit of vaccine development at the Biogenesis Laboratory in Buenos Aires on Friday 21 December.

The action programme (PAMA) seeks to develop livestock sectors in rural regions therefore boosting national economic performance by selling to an international market.

The laboratory monitoring is part of a broader policy across the Mercosur countries of Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and also Bolivia that aims to eradicate FMD to facilitate in rural development.

Amanda Sartori, agriculture and livestock inspector from the Feed Inspectio Department (DFIF/MAPA) will take part in the programme, which started on 17th , because of her experience in the inspection of laboratories producing FMD vaccines.
